With so many family members coming from out of town, we'd like to give you all some of our favorite places to check out. From coffee to flowers, we got you covered.

This is a great coffee shop! It's local, and the service is super. The friendly staff will give you great recommendations. Also the perfect place to bring your little ones to play in their kid area.

Persnickety Crane Cafe

We LOVE this ice cream joint! Alex gets a donut sundae, and I get a donut shake.

Donutz On A Stick Ice Cream and Grill

It's only about $13 per person for admission, but totally worth it for hours of looking at beautiful flowers and walking around on their paths.

Norfolk Botanical Garden

This park is very close to where we live, so we frequent it regularly. It's shady and lovely to go for flat walks in the woods. There are trails. They vary from .5-3.5 miles.

Sandy Bottom Nature Park

This Mexican restaurant has very good burritos and a large selection of tequila. I had a blueberry lager there one time which was pretty good.

El Diablo Loco Cantina and Tequila Bar

When we lived in Norfolk, this was our favorite breakfast joint! It's worth the 30 minute drive from Hampton. You gotta get their cornbeef hash!

Little Dog Diner

Go here for some yummy, locally crafted beers. They typically have a food truck out there for lunch/dinner. While you're on Fort Monroe, drive around. It's a pretty area. We like to go to the beach here too.

Oozlefinch Beers & Blending

This is a lovely beach! There are bathrooms there too. Be sure to check out the Farmers Market on Saturday!

Big, shaded park with lots of walking trails. The short trails are paved, and the longer ones are beyond the bridge.
