Flight
You can easily fly to Chicago or Milwaukee which have regular buses from both that go to downtown Madison. Madison is very walkable, depending on where you stay, and bike friendly with a good public transportation system of local bus lines. You can also rent a car if you'd like to explore beyond Madison.
Travel Note
Shaarei Shamayim (Gates of Heaven) is the Synagogue where the service will take place. It is the eighth-oldest synagogue building still standing in the United States, founded in 1856 by German Jewish immigrants. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1970. In 1971 the building was purchased by the city, restored, and relocated to James Madison Park.
Travel Note
For those coming from out of town, there will be a dinner on Friday night & Saturday night 6:00-9:00 as well as Sunday morning bagels. More details to come after you've RSVPed.
Travel Note
Please choose Union Cab while in Madison. You can also get in touch about getting rides with one another, since some of you will have or rent cars. Union Cab is an important Madison cooperative that supports labor, the arts, and the local community. They have taxis at the airport, and you can arrange rides with them online or by calling: (608) 242-2000.
