We recommend to stay near Natai Beach (5-10mins from venues) or Mai Khao beach (20-25mins from venues). It can be quite hard to find hotels around Natai beach, so Mai Khao is fine and would have more options!
For those traveling in larger groups, renting a larger villa through Airbnb may be more cost-friendly.
