There are are many fun restaurants, wineries, and breweries in Denver to visit. These are mostly in the Highlands, RiNo, and Washington Park (Wash Park) neighborhoods. Some of our favorite restaurants around Denver include Postino, Avanti, Linger, Mizu Izakaya & Sushi, Bigsby Folly Craft Winery and Restaurant, and Denver Biscuit Company. Other Winery and Breweries include Barcelona Wine Bar, Prost Brewing Co, and Blue Moon Brewing Company.
If you want to relax and travel a little more into the mountains, the Indian Hot springs is the place to go. We enjoyed these hot springs as a quick weekend day trip. They offer a variety of services including lodging, a mineral water pool, geo thermal caves, massages, and mud rooms. Call in advance for availability around Labor Day weekend.
Kathy and AJ have spent a lot of time together at Cherry Creek State Park near the Denver Tech Center. While it is most known for lake activities and hiking/biking trails, it is also an amazing experience just to drive through some of the roads and see what wildlife you can spot.
One of the main attractions Castle Rock has to offer, a big 'ol shopping mall. Visiting the outlets are a great way to pass the time shopping and eating while enjoying the outdoor air.
The MAC Center in Castle Rock became one of our favorite places to be active while visiting in Castle Rock AJ's mom's house. Here, you can enjoy hiking, ziplining, a climbing course, or test how many times you can walk up and down the Castle Rock Incline.
