Let’s get weird.

Once upon a time, I saw Alex from behind the bar at the Boathouse Collective shakin’ cocktails like he meant it and obviously thought he was super hot. The way his little chest hairs popped out to say hello from behind his lackadaisically button shirt was like nothing I had ever seen from a man my own age before. And he later confessed that he (allegedly) thought I was the most stunning creature to walk this planet- of which I beg to differ. So one night my friend Al and I told Alex there would be a rather large party at my house and that his secret admirer would be one of the guests attending that night... but then to his dismay it was just my friend Al and I laying on the floor of my family room staring at the ceiling. It turned out that he would have no choice but to attend 90’s night with me later that evening, as our friend Al had “fallen asleep” on my couch. Anyways, turns out I was able to woo him with my tone-deaf, top-of-my-lungs singing at a 90’s night in the basement of a steak house by the name of “La Cave” in Costa Mesa, CA. Apparently there’s something about sweating till your blemishes show in an eclectic pre-pandemic-style mob listening to nerds with a surprising amount of sex appeal cover all your favorite 90’s jams that can really get a guy to look at a girl with a new set of romantic, love-drunk eyes. There's also a type of magnetism that happens when a man is trying to scream his family’s life story over Blink 182's "What's my Name Again?" that'll really hook, line, and sink a girl. That being said, the rest is history. Like two peas in a pod, we’ve never been apart ever since and we’re each other’s best friend in this whole wide world. We love annoying people with our all-too-childlike quirky flirt voices that accidentally creeps into our everyday conversation, displaying our PDA like Michael and Holly from the office, and convincing the world that yes we are relatively normal with at least a small fraction of social awareness which most people don’t agree with. We’re also unhealthily obsessed with our black lab named Brady who we ventured far and wide to adopt, and we love convincing the world that he’s the best dog to ever exist. We can’t wait to celebrate our love with all of our family and friends on our wedding day... May 7th has been a long time comin’! Cheers!
