Alex and Adrienne both started their careers at Triage Consulting Group, a small boutique consulting firm in San Francisco with a knack for hiring smart, fun, newly-minted college grads (several of whom will be in attendance at the wedding). In 2017, they were placed on two 5 month projects back-to-back, and quickly became fast friends. Fun fact: Adrienne was also Alex's superior on that second project for a brief period of time, even giving him a mid-project evaluation. While the evaluation she delivered has been lost to the sands of time, she's almost positive he was awarded a 4.5/5. Roughly 6 years later, Alex is still wondering why it wasn't a 5/5 (you can be the judge). After the project ended (they swear!), and a few happy hour and concert trips later, they made it official and reported to HR that they were dating. Shoutout to Amy Cheung, the head of staffing at TCG, for making this wedding possible.
While working from home during the Covid-19 pandemic, Alex at Meta and Adrienne at Salesforce, they were also discussing moving in together. The plan was to move out of the apartments they had with friends, live the "nomad life" for a year moving up the coast of California, starting in San Diego and ending back in San Francisco, then find their own apartment back in SF. Needless to say they didn't make it far up the coast. After 6 months in San Diego, 3 extended airbnb stays, and one declaration from Alex that he was "never leaving", they moved out of their San Francisco storage spot and became official San Diego county residents. They're so excited to host you for the weekend in their newfound home!
Alex planned a trip to San Francisco under the guise of a birthday gift for Adrienne and the chance to visit their old city. While Adrienne was suspicious of a few signs (i.e. staying at a hotel instead of bridesmaid Megan's couch, the new jeans Alex was wearing), there was no predicting all the surprises Alex had in store. Alex took Adrienne to a beautiful picnic lunch under the Golden Gate Bridge (on an unusually sunny day in SF!), where he popped the question, and she of course said yes. That evening, thinking just the two of them were dining alone at their favorite restaurant, Seven Hills, Adrienne walked in and was immediately surprised by both her and Alex's families, who had come into town to celebrate. To end the night, Alex suggested they all grab drinks at Harper & Rye, an old favorite bar, which unbeknownst to Adrienne, was filled with their closest San Francisco friends. It was a perfect proposal, filled with 3 perfectly executed surprises!
