Here are a few of our favorite places to eat and drink in Berkeley and Oakland that are close to the wedding activities. There are, of course, many many more great ones.

Good place for dinner, or just to enjoy some chips, guacamole, and cocktails on their outdoor patio. This also happens to be the spot of our first day, seven years and one day before the welcome dinner.

Comal

Udon! That's almost as good as our favorite place to go on Oahu.

Marugame Udon

Our second favorite spot for cocktails (plus delicious dinner) in Berkeley. But don't be too tempted by those cocktails -- there will be an open bar waiting for you at Tupper & Reed on Friday night.

East Bay Spice Company

A Berkeley classic -- one option for a delicious vegetarian pizza option plus a salad each day. It is pretty much guaranteed to have a line.

Cheese Board Collective Pizzeria

A bit of a cheeseboard spinoff, and also one of Adrian's top-two pizza places in the Bay. A regular staple of the Adrian-Alex dinner rotation.

Sliver Pizzeria

Delicious tapas, with outdoor seating available. Reservations needed!

La Marcha Tapas Bar

One of our favorite spots for pastries and breakfast sandwiches

Firebrand Artisan Breads

One of our favorite bars, right around the corner from the Kissel. Good cocktails, delicious small plates (plus an outstanding grilled cheese), and a lovely, fun, inclusive vibe.

Friends & Family

This will be the spot of our after party! New-ish place and one of our favorites for cocktails and small plates in Oakland, with great decor.

Sobre Mesa

The sister restaurant to Sobre Mesa. Delicious Cajun seafood fusion place. The Garlic Udon Noodles are fantastic.

alaMar Kitchen & Bar

Difficult to get a spot, but if you do, you'll be rewarded with delicious small plates and cocktails in a fun atmosphere.

Viridian

One of our favorite spots for brunch, also right next to the Kissel. The chilaquiles verde are a don't-miss.

Calavera

One of our favorite spots in the entire bay area. Days have been saved and friends have been made through this place. The sesame paste hand-pulled noodles are fantastic.

Shan Dong

A window + a few outdoor seats serving delicious lumpia.

The Lumpia Company

Good cocktails, good food, and happy hour in the late afternoon. The corn and sweet potato fritters are a must-order.
