Traveling to Greece during Covid?

Answer

USA to Greece: Items to Bring: • proof of vaccination OR negative PCR Covid Test 72 hours within departure OR proof of antibodies • Passport • Fill out Passenger Locator Form https://travel.gov.gr/#/ complete this form You will get a confirmation email that present as you check into your Athens flight. This can easily be shown through your phone. • At 12am Greek time, (5pm EST) the day of your flight, you will receive an email with a QR code • When you land in Greece you will show this QR code Greece to USA: • You will need a negative Covid test or Antigen test to arrive back in the USA Multiple Options: • Your hotel can set up a PCR test for you • Pharmacies in Santorini can provide tests • Athens airport can provide tests on the spot • PCR- €60 • Antigen - €15 Islands in Greece: •Bring proof of vaccination or negative test https://gr.usembassy.gov/covid-19-information/

Are the events indoors or outdoors?

Answer

All three of our events will be outdoors. While Santorini is very warm in July, it can get windy at night time.

Where should we stay in santorini?

Answer

Fira, Santorini's capital, is the most conveniently located city. Known for its white washed houses and cliffside sunsets, it is one of the most popular cities. We highly recommend staying in or close to Fira and enjoying the many cafes, restaurants, bars, and hotels. Fira is great for all ages and budgets. Imerovigli is a beautiful village on the island of Santorini, Greece, connected to the north of Fira. Imerovigli is a less touristy option for hotels and airbnbs. Firostefani is a charming extension of Fira. It has breathtaking views and great airbnb options. Oia, (pronounced 'eeya' like "Old McDonald had a farm") is one of the most picturesque towns in Santorini. While we definitely recommend visiting, we don't suggest staying here due to its high prices and heavy traffic in the summer months. Wherever you choose to stay, we hope you enjoy the epic views and vibrant greek culture of Santorini. Just let the bride and groom know once you have selected your accommodations!

What are the best flight options?

Answer

Santorini is a popular summer destination and you can get a direct flight from most European cities. However, there are no direct flights from USA. We do recommend connecting in other cities, being Athens is one of the most expensive in July. Some major cities that connect are, London, Vienna, Rome, Milan, Naples, Barcelona, Madrid, Paris and more. We love Kayak and Skyscanner to help with these searches!

IS THERE A SHUTTLE TO AND FROM THE HOTEL TO THE WEDDING EVENTS?

Answer

Yes! There will be shuttles provided for each event of our wedding weekend. There will be central meeting spots with an exact time for pickups. Just let us know your accommodations so we can best organize meeting points and pickup times!

What other Greek Islands should we visit?

Answer

While there are many amazing greek islands here are some we think you'd enjoy! Mykonos, one of the most famous islands in the world known for its extravagant beach parties, restaurants and clubs. Crete, the largest Island in Greece, known for its various terrains! Some popular cities to stay in are Chania, Heraklion or Hersonissos. Rhodes, known for its medieval ruins and lively old city. Milos, infamous for its romantic beaches and authentic restaurants. Skaithos, where the Greeks from Greece vacation! Beautiful beaches, reasonable pricing and great nightlife.
