The Wedding Website of James McKinney and Alexandra Adams
We think Anacortes is the perfect destination and are excited to share this beautiful place we call home! Anacortes is the only town on the small island of Fidalgo. Our island is a gateway to the beautiful San Juan Islands...a popular summertime vacation retreat. From Anacortes you can catch the ferry to San Juan, Orcas, Lopez Islands, or even Victoria, Canada! If you drive the island on Route 20 (about 20 minutes South) you cross of the famous Deception Pass bridge (prime picture taking spot) and end up on the very long Whidbey Island. For all of you joining us from out of state, we recommend flying into Seattle Tacoma International (SEA) or even Vancouver (YVR). Anacortes is the same distance from both, but coming from SEATAC you drive through Seattle traffic, and coming from Vancouver you go through customs. All in all, the drive will take 1.5 to 2 hours.

Hotel

Camping at Bowman Bay

If camping is your thing, we suggest camping at Bowman Bay. It's right on the water, there are multiple trails connecting the surrounding parks, and you'll enjoy beautiful views of the Olympic peninsula. The best part is, you will be 200 feet from our wedding! We recommend booking a campsite earlier rather than later due to the July 4th holiday. Look for Deception Pass Park and select the Bowman Bay sites.

Hotel

Majestic Inn & Spa

419 Commercial Avenue
Anacortes, WA 98221
 (360) 299-1400

This hotel is Anacortes' boutique hotel and is in a prime location! Right downtown on Commercial Ave, you'll be within a few blocks of all the restaurants, shopping, and the few watering holes that we frequent:) The Majestic has a fabulous spa and it's own restaurant downstairs, as well as it's summertime rooftop bar! On the night of our wedding, you'll only be a few blocks away from the reception! This hotel will sell out and can be a little on the pricey side, so book sooner rather than later!

Hotel

Ship Harbor Inn

Anacortes, WA 98221
 (360) 293-5177

This inn is outside the downtown area and has beautiful views of the ferry. All the rooms are different and the grounds are beautiful. You are walking distance to the ferry and the Guemes Island walking trail, and the drive to town is a straight shot about 7-10 minutes.

House Or Rental

AirBNB

If you are interested in renting a house check AirBnB or HomeAway. We recommend staying somewhere on the island of Fidalgo if you don't have your own car or might be relying on taxis at night.

Travel Note

Shuttle from SeaTac Airport to Anacortes

The Bellair Airporter shuttle is the best way to get to Anacortes if you aren't renting a car. The trip is about 3 hours and roughly $35 each way. Look for the Anacortes to San Juan Islands shuttle and choose any location to get dropped off at in Anacortes. While they don't drop off at the big hotels, there are a few locations that can get you close.
