In 2015, while attending a conference in California, Ali was invited out by friends of friends to see the best that Los Angeles had to offer. Little did she know that was the night she would meet Dave Ganssle. When Dave and Ali first met, both of them felt something special, but they did not expect much to come of it, as Ali had to go back to DC the next day. But over the next two years, Ali and Dave kept up with each other over text and Skype, developing a deep friendship over that time. In 2017, Ali began planning a trip back to Los Angeles, and Dave volunteered to once again drive her around town. Then one night before the trip, Ali asked Dave if he would be interested in going out on a date. Dave could not have answered yes fast enough! During the trip, Ali and Dave spent a lovely evening on the Santa Monica Pier. It didn't take long for them to realize they were meant for each other, and they committed to making a long-distance relationship work. Fortunately, in 2018, Ali found a way to move out to California, and the relationship continued to grow in person. In 2019, on Dave's 32nd birthday, he took her back to the site of their first date, the Santa Monica Pier. After watching the sun set over the ocean, Dave got on one knee proposed to Ali. Ali could not have said yes fast enough! Now Dave and Ali are ready to begin the next chapter of their story.
