If you in town for a few days and are looking for things to do. You can enjoy a walk on the beach, we like going to Seal Beach, as it tends to be low key and easy to find a parking spot. 
The restaurant closest to the venue we enjoy is El Farolito Mexican Restaurant, for breakfast the chilaquiles and a nice hot cup of cafe de la olla hits the spot. ( the chilaquiles are only for those who enjoy spicy)
We have fun going to amusement parks, concerts and the movies. Here are some more recommendations below.
