Question

Where is Melrose?

Answer

Melrose is about 34 miles south of Butte, MT and about 31 miles north of Dillon, MT

Question

How do I get to the ceremony location?

Answer

*****DO NOT FOLLOW GPS TO 420 PONDEROSA ROAD, IT WILL TRY TO TAKE YOU THROUGH PRIVATE PROPERTY AND CLOSED GATES**** *We also suggest taking a screenshot of these directions, as service in Melrose area can be spotty* The ceremony will be held in North Maiden Rock campground. We will have signs to help indicate where to go, but the easiest way to get there is to take the exit into Melrose (exit 93) go straight through the stop sign at the intersection, pass the Salmon Fly Fishing Access, pass over the 2 bridges, keep going straight on the windy dirt road (staying right when necessary) for about 2 miles, turn right on Big Horn road, follow it and stay on the maintained dirt road (this road is also very windy and you will hit a sharp right turn, stay on that road, NOT left on the trail).. after another 2ish miles you’ll drive by a large ranch on your right side (keep going, you’re almost there!) and then you’ll see a 35mph speed limit sign and an open field coming up on your right with a road winding around it- this is the reception property (420 Ponderosa Rd) but keep going straight to get to the ceremony! You’ll see a sign coming up on the left that said Maiden Rock Fishing Access, go straight past it, up and then down the rocky hill, and the campground/ceremony will be on your right! Please park up top. Car pooling would be appreciated if possible, and you are more than welcome to park/drop vehicles at the reception location on your way.

Question

Where are the ceremony and reception taking place?

Answer

We plan to have the reception at the O’Neill property outside of Melrose at 420 Ponderosa Rd, and the ceremony just down the road at the north Maiden Rock Campground.

Question

Where will we park?

Answer

We will have parking along the fence at the reception location at 420 Ponderosa Rd, and off the road in the campground at the ceremony location in North Maiden Rock campground

Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

There will be a variety of camping spots near the area-most of them being fishing accesses with no hookups or reservations. We will also have some rooms/cabins blocked out in the town of Melrose(see “Travel”). Otherwise, Butte or Dillon will have hotel options. Please reach out to us if you need help finding a place to stay

Question

What should I wear? Is there a “dress code”?

Answer

Our wedding will be casual and completely outdoors, so pick something you can feel comfortable in from day to evening! Anything from jeans and a nice shirt to dress pants and dresses! Keep in mind the temperature drops a good amount in the evening

Question

What should I expect for weather conditions?

Answer

As we know Montana can be a bit unpredictable, but generally the daytime will be warmer from 60°-80° and temperatures will drop in the evening. Make sure to bring a few layers in case of any potential wind, rain or cooler temps, and keep an eye on the weather reports! As of now it’s looking like a high in the 70s and low in the 40s.

For all the days along the way
