Unfortunately, most people only speak Spanish. However, at the hotels and airport there will be English speakers. The towns along the coast are usually English-speaking friendly, especially in summer. If you venture out into Almeria city or drive to small towns, you will find most people won't speak any English. Google Translate is helpful, as is having some Spanish speaking basics. Be prepared to read Spanish menus and order food and drinks in Spanish.
