Wedding events will take place at Villa Catignano, just outside of Siena. The nearest major airports are in Florence and Rome, from which we recommend traveling to Siena via ItaliaRail, or renting a car and driving directly to the venue. Milan is a further option but with potentially cheaper flights, and is also accessible by car or train. If you have any questions on travel planning, feel free to ask us!

Hotel

Villa Catignano

25 Strada Comunale di Catignano, Toscana 53019, Italy

We have exclusively rented Villa Catignano for events and accommodation. All wedding events will take place at the villa, and additionally most guests who are interested will be able to stay onsite for a discounted rate (you can reserve your spot through the RSVP once we send out invitations)

Flight

Traveling via Florence (FLR) Amerigo Vespucci Airport

Florence is the nearest airport to the villa, just under 60 miles away (~75 minute drive). We recommend either renting a car, or taking the train from Florence to Siena (~1.5 hours) and hiring a taxi for the 15 minute drive to the villa.

Flight

Traveling via Rome (FCO) Fiumicino Airport

Rome is further from the villa but will be a more accessible flight for most guests. It is a ~160 mile (3 hours) drive to the villa. We recommend a rental car if you are travelling through Rome. Alternatively you can take the train from Rome to Florence, then Florence to Siena (~90 minutes for each leg), or take the bus from Rome to Siena (3 hours).

Flight

Traveling via Milan (MXP) Milano Malpensa Airport

Milan is further from the Florence and Rome airports, but may offer cheaper flights from certain cities. It is a ~4.5 hour drive (260 miles), or a ~3.5 hour train ride to Siena connecting through Florence.

Travel Note

Traveling Within Italy (ItaliaRail or Rental Car)

For those who are traveling elsewhere in Italy before/after our wedding, trains are a convenient and quick way to get around. The nearest station to the venue is in Siena, and you can book tickets online in English via ItaliaRail. Alternatively, renting a car and driving between destinations is another option. Keep in mind that major cities in Italy have traffic restricted zones (ZTL's) that are strictly enforced, so keep these in mind when planning driving routes (Waze is a good resource).
