Kylie met Albert at the University of Rochester, in western NY, where they both were earning their PhDs in chemistry. They first knew each other as classmates, co-TAs, and fellow scientists, and grew to know each other as ice cream lovers, avid board gamers, and eventually lifetime partners. After dating in the snowy city of Rochester for almost five years, they moved together to New Jersey, where they now both work to support their cat Jenkins.

Albert has always known that he wanted to propose in South Korea, after introducing Kylie to his extended family and hometown of Daejeon. He had big plans to propose to her on a beach in Jeju island, but unfortunately, a typhoon that year prevented their trip to the tropical island down South. Albert couldn't wait any longer and found himself kneeling in front of his best friend by Daecheongho Lake, a beautiful area located right in his hometown. Kylie was completely caught off-guard and said yes before Albert could finish asking the question. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter of our lives with you and hope to see you in VA!
