HE: Mid December, 2016, I took a trip to Atlanta to attend a friend’s baby shower. I stayed longer than planned so I could attend a little Christmas get together. The plan was to grab a plate and head home! But somehow, I ended up at the Family Dollar getting last minute items for the shindig! While at the Family Dollar, there was a cutie holding up the line by helping a little girl count her coins. I was intrigued by her patience, beauty and grace. But see, I was in the back of the line - so hollering at her wasn't going to happen. But I decided that if I saw her again… Anyways, I made it to my homeboy’s spot with the last-minute Family Dollar purchases. And the first person I saw was the cutie from the Family Dollar! I thought to myself… I’ll stay for the whole shindig after all.

SHE: December again, this time in 2020. It was Malachi’s birthday weekend so a staycation in Chicago, a nice dinner, a little shopping, etc etc. was in the works. What I didn’t realize was that his birthday weekend was the cover for our engagement! Unbeknownst to me, another couple had made their way to Chi town to help set up for the proposal. And what I thought would be dinner for 2 to celebrate a birthday, was actually a pre-planned dinner for 4 to celebrate a double engagement!
