The Day We Met

11.17.17

"Wow!" thought Nicole as she laid eyes on a tall bearded man who was chasing a Pac-12 over and holding a Bud Light. As she approached Albert, he started to clear room so she could walk by because in no way did he think that this beautiful woman was coming to talk to him. "Hey," she said, "Want to trade your Bud Light for my Budweiser?" Never being afraid of germs, and in a brief moment of suaveness, Albert said, "If we can also have a conversation, of course, I'll trade drinks." The two went on to learn about their upbringings--Albert from St. Paul and Nicole from Muskego (close enough to Marquette territory...Go Birds) while cracking wise on all the hipster doofuses and frat boy chads at the bar before making their way to a place they both felt more comfortable--The 1029. Albert knew he had to capitalize on the fact she didn't leave and asked for her number before walking her to her cab home. She obliged. A first date was set. Albert showered. Nicole was stunning. They laughed and knew a special bond was being made.

The Proposal

05.06.19

Don't ya just love Mondays?! Yeah us either. But this particular Monday was pretty great... It was a Monday like any other. Nicole and Albert were out taking their daily evening walk around Northeast Minneapolis. Nicole was venting about her crazy day at school (cleaning up a 9th grader's vomit was not in the job description), and Albert was listening patiently and intently (surprisingly so, for what he was about to do). As they rounded Boom Island Park, Nicole knew something was up when Albert's pace slowed. Since he's usually about 10-20 steps ahead of her at all times and at this particular moment SHE was leading the way, she turned around to tell him to keep up. To her surprise, Albert was stopped and on one knee. A gasp, some happy tears, and a HELL YES later, here they are ready to celebrate this awesome day with you. Best. Monday. Ever.
