We went on our first date to The Pour House in Lenoir on August 15, 2021. As two strangers, we embarked on the journey of getting to know each other's lives, unaware that we would become inseparable from that moment. Albi was scheduled to return to Honduras in three days—yes, this is the moment you realize she's crazy—so we made it our goal to spend every minute together (Karen was not happy waiting until 4 am for her daughter to come home) and simply learn about each other's lives. Albi returned to the US and for three months, we dedicated ourselves to spending as much time together as possible. Avery even got invited to Tita's birthday party at Albi's parents' house. Knowing we were falling more in love every day, we decided to make October 2nd our "official" date. We did long distance for 6 months, Avery went to visit Albi in Honduras, and after some months (too long tbh), Albi moved to the US to pursue her master's and be closer to the love of her life. Those two and a half years as girlfriend and boyfriend have been full of travels, concerts, Mexican food, fishing, dirt bikes, Thursday boys' nights which Albi is now part of (sorry, boys), Kevin's BBQs, family time and trips, sad and fun moments, and most importantly, real love.

We got engaged April 7th, 2024 near Lake Julian in Asheville, NC. Initially, Avery wanted to propose in the snow, however it was a bit too late in the year for that, so he planned an adventurous day through Black Mountain and Asheville. After finding the perfect spot near the water, he got down on one knee and asked the question.
