Cowles Mountain
A great 1.5 mile (3 miles round trip) summit hike with 360 degree views of San Diego (great ocean views, too!). Check out this pic of Alan at the top.
Balboa Park
Museums, the zoo, gardens, arts, and just an all around lovely place. Built in 1868 for the World Fair, Balboa Park is a San Diego must see! Jenga loves to take Alan and Sarah on walks here.
Morley Field Disc Golf Course
Alan's favorite outdoor past time. Its $5 a round and you can rent discs there.

Our favorite Italian spot in Little Italy.
Blind Lady Ale House
Located in the Normal Heights Neighborhood not far from our house. BLAH, as we call it, has great pizza and beers.
Cantina Mayahuel
Good Mexican food and tequila.

Trendy craft cocktail bar with excellent drinks for those staying in a hotel near the venue.
Buona Forchetta - Encinitas
Great Italian for people staying in North County San Diego. They also have restaurants in Point Loma and South Park.
San Diego Zoo
Not just for kids, the San Diego Zoo is worth checking out for all ages! We love going to see the penguins with Alan's family. Unfortunately, the giant pandas are no longer on display due to the ongoing trade war with China, but you can still catch a glimpse of Sarah's favorite animal, their relative, the red panda!
TJ Oyster Bar
When asked what to write, Alan responded, "best fish tacos in town."

Coronado
Wide, clean beaches, cute shops and restaurants, Coronado is the "island" town just across the bridge from San Diego's downtown. Rent bikes and cruise the beachy neighborhoods or bring a towel a sit by the beach. Check out the historic Hotel Del Coronado, where you can usually catch Alan's dad, Mike playing live music for tourist and locals alike (though he won't be working this wedding weekend.)

Mission Trails Regional Park
One of our favorite open spaces in the City. Choose from summit hikes and flatter loop trails of different lengths and levels.
C Level Lounge
Located on Harbor Island near the San Diego International Airport, this is the Krietor's favorite restaurant for dinner when they're in town. American seafood. The fish and chips is enough for two. Killer views of the habor and downtown.
