Jennifer & Alan

Jenny's sister and Maid of Honor, Robin, was hosting a championship football party in early 2018. Jenny developed googily - eyes for Alan during the party, but Alan was playing it coy. Jenny repeatedly asked Alan to friend her on Facebook, and a shy and reluctant Alan didn't know at the time that the love of his live was right there in front of him. Jenny's persistence for a friend request won Alan over and the friendship was made. Slow to start in 2018, a true friendship began to form between us, as we got to know each other in the next few months. In June of 2018, Alan had come down quite ill and spent the summer at home resting and recovering. Jenny and her best-friend, Doug her Pomerian side-kick, would come visit Alan that summer and together discovered all the television shows that you never knew you needed to watch, aka "Trash TV".

Up to this point, Alan and Jenny were just friends. Alan took note of an unusual pop-up restaurant featuring International food with a Canadian twist and an airline sponsorship opening in DC that had caught his eye. Alan thought to himself, maybe it was time for our first official date and this sounded fun. Without any forethought or careful word planning, he casually texts the worst date proposal in history: "Are you hungry? Do you want food?". Jenny is rightly confused by the cryptic text and calls up Robin and says - "What does that mean?" Robin quickly translates the Alan-speak, (something Alan's work colleague's are all too familiar with). "I think he wants to go on a date with you!". And thus, was our first... date? Jenny wasn't sure at first, but it became our tradition of Nov 14 international date night that we've done every year since. :)

Alan proposed on a beautiful day, September 6, 2021 in South Carolina at the ruins at St. Helena Parish Chapel of Ease. We were traveling there with our cute little puppies Dexter the Pomeranian Husky and Clifford the Sheepadoodle. Alan was definitely nervous that day as he came out of the car got on one knee pulled out the ring then quickly. But he had forgotten to bring the flowers he secretly bought and stored in the car without Jenny noticing! Saying, "Oh shoot!... hold that thought" and ran back up ran to the car to grab the flowers and came right back to his one knee and then slowly pulled the ring back out. Jenny being Jenny couldn’t help but giggle 🤭. She definitely has meet the man of her dreams!!

[Alan]: I fell in love with Jenny with her ginormous and selfless heart. She cares so much about everything that matters the most to her, which includes our family. She's also been so generous to me and open to the things that I love to do and care about, but is not afraid to put her own signature on those experiences either to make it more about "us". We love doing things together and taking each others experiences and combining them. Having fun with Jenny, has opened my heart to her in ways I never experienced before. I am excited to have her become my bride! [Jenny]: I fell In love with Alan for his smarts, patience, and calming loving personality. He is one that will always lend a hand and will do anything for anyone. If you all know me I am a very exciting and spontaneous person and we mesh and balance each other out perfectly. We both enjoying doing things together and that definitely puts a huge smile on my face. I fell in love with Alan for everything he is. But the best part is that he is my best friend, puppy dad, and family man to my family and his. I couldn't have asked for a better man to marry, I'm the luckiest woman in the world.
