We're Getting Married!

Mike and Aine met while working as teachers together at Smart's Mill Middle School. Mike asked Aine out one day while she was making copies after school. Aine said yes of course, and they had drinks at a local bar, Delirium. Just about one month later, at that same bar, they shared a New Year's midnight kiss, and little did they know, before the next New Year's celebration, they would be engaged.

On December 14th, 2019, Aine woke up to her phone buzzing with texts and calls from family and friends wishing her a happy birthday. Mike was supposed to have a doctoral class in the morning, but by luck it was cancelled. Aine had plans with her mom and sister in the morning, but after that Mike headed to Ashburn for present time. Aine met him at her apartment, and she was very eager to see what he got her. She was so curious she even tried sneakily snooping around at his house earlier in the week (but couldn't find anything)! Finally it was present time, and she was thrilled! Mike gave her a bag, and inside, was a book (if you didn't know- Aine loves books). Mike had created a book all about their relationship and what he loves about her. They sat on the couch, and Mike began to read it to her. Just when Aine thought the book was done and things couldn't get better, Mike turned the final page, pulled out his grandmother's ring, and got down on one knee! Aine said yes! It may have been the end of that book, but it was the start of a great new chapter in their lives.
