Check out the on-site experiences page on The Homestead website for more details on what the resort has to offer, including pools, hot tubs and spa, a golf course*, pickleball and tennis courts, and The Homestead Crater*. There is also a rental outfitter on site that provides ATV tours & rentals, zipline tours, and bike rentals.* Certain activities may need to be booked in advance. *Additional cost
Once owned by Robert Redford, Sundance Resort is a 25 minute drive from the Homestead and is a great place for a scenic chair lift with an EPIC view, hike to a waterfall, self-guided tour of the grounds, zip-lining, fly fishing, or a delicious lunch.
Zion & Bryce: great paired together or if you have to choose one, go with Zion. Both are about a 4 hr drive from the Homestead. * Zion: Stunning, Yosemite-like views with a huge range of activities for different adventure levels including multiple hiking options: https://www.nps.gov/zion/planyourvisit/hiking-in-zion.htm. * Bryce: Very unique landscape including "hoodoos" with many hiking options. Could do as a day trip from the Zion area (~1 hr 48 mins from Zion): https://www.nps.gov/brca/planyourvisit/day-hikes.htm
Arches & Canyonlands: Would recommend staying in Moab, a funky desert town with some good food options & close to both parks. * Arches: Beautiful, unique rock formations. Within the park there are multiple arches that you can easily drive within 1/4 mile to and some that we'd categorize as moderate but worth the view (ex Delicate arch) NOTE: Reservations required - learn more here: https://www.nps.gov/arch/planyourvisit/timed-entry-pilot.htm * Canyonlands: If you're in the area (aka Moab visiting Arches), it's worth a visit to see the Grand Canyon-esque landscape but is honestly my least favorite of the nat'l parks.
Capitol Reef & Goblin Valley: This is where Aileen & Greg went camping a few months into their relationship - it's a special and stunning place! * Capitol Reef is the most underrated national park in Utah. Stunning views, typically few crowds, and great hikes. See here for info on Capitol Reef: https://www.nps.gov/care/index.htm * Goblin Valley: This is a great day trip from the Capitol Reef area leading you to a funky, Mars-esque landscape of sandstone formations (featured in the hilarious movie Galaxy Quest).
