Our story starts as co-workers. With a brief stop as just friends. Though even as friends we knew something more was there. There were years spent apart. Then one day in July Ahmed made a phone call that turned into many phone calls. We didn’t think much of it. A trip to Washington, DC to visit Destine when she started a new job and that’s when we thought, ok this could be something.

We spent Destine’s birthday in Arizona. The morning of her birthday we shared breakfast with a friend we are so blessed to have, Taffany. Little did Destine know there was a plan in the works. That afternoon Ahmed enlisted Taffany’s help him to find the perfect ring. With Taffany’s guidance she helped Ahmed pick an elegant and classy ring that they knew would be just right. After ring shopping, Ahmed returned to the house to watch football. However, before Destine’s birthday was over he insisted on going to the mountains to view the city at night. Atop the mountain, overlooking the city, Ahmed rambled about the most random things, as per usual. Suddenly he dropped down on one knee and asked the question that would change our lives forever. Destine cried and said yes. We were now engaged! See You in Arizona!
