Once a hidden gem among locals, Frenchmen Street is now recognized as one of New Orleans’ best spots for finding live music and local food and drink. There are so many places to visit here so we will offer a couple of our favorites. The Maison: The Maison is the premier bar on the strip. They offer live jazz played against a backdrop of New Orleans quintessentail food and drinks. 30/90 Located in the heart of Frenchmen St., 30/90 named itself after the nautical coordinates of New Orleans. With old brick that compliments an otherwise modern interior and live music, the bar’s atmosphere captures the essence of New Orleans’ atmosphere: a perfect blend of old and new. Dat Dog: A local favorite, Dat Dog takes all the best of New Orleans and stuffs it into its famous sausages. They offer all different types of sausages from beef and andouille to even gator. Stop by for a quick bite as you continue your stroll through Frenchmen Street.
Cafe Du Monde in the French Market is a MUST! Have you really been to NOLA unless you have had a Beignet from Cafe du Monde? Indulge in their perfectly fried Beignets and dont forget to pair it with a Cafe Au Lait!
Parkway Bakery and Tavern is a New Orleans institution that dates back over 100 years. Parkway was first opened in 1911 by German baker Charles Goering Sr. and operated as a bakery and quintessential corner store. This is hands down our favorite place to grab a Po-Boy in town!
A massive warehouse facility in the Bywater district of New Orleans, Studio Be is an eye-popping and illuminating display of public art. The creator, Brandan "BMike" Odums, collaborated with more than 40 other artists to create large scale murals and exhibits that explore activism, resistance and Black American history. Most displays use spray paint and graffiti techniques. The facility spans 35,000 square feet, and encompasses four buildings and up to five stories. It is the largest single-site public art exhibition in the American South, and it attracts visitors from all over the globe.
