(Scott Butler), excitedly informed him about the two lovely ladies from Minnesota, Cara and Adrienne, whom he had just met. Eager to meet them, Lorenz listened as Scott shared how he captured their attention and got them to visit their fourth floor, Graves Hall dorm room. Adrienne and Cara visited the penthouse the following week, and Lorenz drawn to Adrienne's allure and grace, wanted to impress her, so he got creative and began throwing Cali-style parties in his dorm room, serving trash can punch, and using Scotty's boom box. They played a mixed tape created by then-DJ Dr. Dre before NWA formed as a group. "86 in the Mix," a high fidelity metal cassette recorded mixed tape, included old school, new school, East Coast, Down South, and West Coast jams that became the backdrop for dancing, showcasing the latest moves from every major city nationwide. The dance challenges included regional competitions among the partygoers to see who could hit the best Steve Martin, Tom & Jerry, Roger Rabbit, Biz Markie, Robocop, Baseball Bat, Cabbage Patch, Prep, Wop, Reebok, Running Man, and Guess dance moves. Over the next four weeks, Lorenz and Scott's dorm room parties were the place to be on a Friday night. We spent hours dancing to the same mixed tape playing with the Boom Box blaring using a super cool new feature, Autoreverse, which was a sure hit. As a result, Lorenz and Adrienne became fast friends and locked in as dance partners who cherished each other's company throughout that first year, creating lasting memories together in the penthouse on dorm room 409 dance floor.
