Aside from children in the wedding party, children are not allowed at this event.
Yes! Queretaro is one of the top three safest cities in all of Mexico. As with travels to any part of the world, stay alert while walking around town at night, and try not to be obvious about being a tourist.
We recommend flying into Queretaro, even though it's a smaller airport with fewer flights. Uber is available in Mexico and will be 30 mins from Queretaro International to City Center, where we recommend guests stay. While flying into Mexico City may save on plane fare, you'll need to drive 2 and 1/2 hours to Queretaro, which will require booking a rental car, insurance (slightly expensive, and legally required, as your U.S. insurance will not cover you here) and accounting for tolls.
Our favorite hotels in Centro Historico are listed on the "Travel" tab. If you'd like to book else where, we recommend staying within Centro Historico, as it's a very safe and walkable part of the city. This is also the neighborhood in which all pre-wedding events will take place, and where day-of transportation will pick-up/drop-off (Plaza de Armas).
Transportation will be provided to the ceremony/reception from Centro Historico. Private vehicles for hire will also be on stand-by at the event for guests who would like to leave earlier than the 3 am end time. As for getting around town prior/after the wedding, Centro Historico is very safe and walkable with limited parking, so we do not recommend a rental car. Uber is also readily available and safe.
