A right swipe led to an incredible first date full of competitive Top Golf, deep conversations, and not wanting the date to end. Within days we were hooked. After a memorable trip to the dog park with Saoirse and Lilly, Adrian decided he wasn't about to let things end just because of a little distance (~2,300 miles) and asked Courtney to consider long distance. Their constant texting, voice messaging, and GIF-sending morphed into hours long conversations after work that brought deep connection. Not one day has passed since the day they met that they haven't spent time on the phone or FaceTime. The summer was a whirlwind with a trip to San Diego, Seattle, and even a surprise 24-hours in Anchorage! But each experience solidified their love. Perhaps the most telling example of true love was the 30+ hour road trip in the U-Haul from Katy, TX to Mill Creek, WA where they sat side-by-side singing to show tunes, listening to audiobooks, and laughing their heads off (both Adrian and Courtney are the funniest people you've ever met). After receiving approval from Adrian's three kids, Courtney was surprised on October 15th with the most stunning sapphire ring. With the sun setting over the water behind them at Boulevard Park - and Saoirse and Lilly waiting patiently for their mom's reply - Courtney said "yes" to the man of her dreams and chose to jump all in on a happy life with his family.
As a nod to Adrian's Mexican heritage (and because the Yucatan Peninsula is absolutely stunning as a backdrop for a wedding), we'll be having an intimate (i.e. elopement) ceremony in Playa del Carmen. Once our kids and Courtney's parents leave to return to the States, our week-long honeymoon will begin. We'll be returning tanned and full of smiles the next weekend, ready to celebrate with the rest of our friends and family. This formal cocktail reception will take place at the Winter Club in Winter Park, Florida and end with a sparkler farewell.
