Alcatraz Island
In its heyday, it was the ultimate maximum security prison. Located on a lonely island in the middle of San Francisco Bay, Alcatraz—aka “The Rock”—had held captives since the Civil War. A great tour where you can learn a lot about past prisoners and the history surrounding them.
Half Moon Bay
You can't go wrong with any of the beaches in Half Moon Bay. We love getting a crab sandwich at Nick's Rockaway, a historical & delicious restaurant that has been there for over 90 years.
Napa Valley
Napa Valley is one of the world's premier wine regions boasting more than 400 wineries and known for hundreds of hillside vineyards. We enjoy indulging in cheeses, wines, and chocolates there.
Muir Woods National Monument
Ancient coast redwoods that are among the tallest and oldest trees on Earth. Great hikes!
University of California, Berkeley
Our alma mater! Berkeley has many restaurants, shops, and a historical campus. If you want to see a protest, we are sure there will be one (or many!) to see. We love to eat at Top Dog, Cheese Board, and Jupiter.
Haight-Ashbury
Birthplace of the 1960s counterculture movement, Haight-Ashbury draws a lively, diverse crowd looking to soak up the historic hippie vibe. Upper Haight Street is a hodgepodge of vintage clothing boutiques, record shops, bookstores, dive bars and casual, eclectic restaurants.
