BNA - Nashville International Airport
We've listed a few Franklin and Spring Hill hotels, but there are also lovely options available on VRBO and Airbnb.
If you choose to rent a car for a few days, we recommend using the app Turo. (It's like the Airbnb of vehicles.) If you don't want to rent a car, you can get to Nashville, Spring Hill (our venue's city), Thompsons Station, and Franklin from BNA via Uber or Lyft.
You can RSVP here on our website! Please do your best to let us know by September 27th.
Please arrive ~15 minutes before the ceremony, which starts at 5:00 pm CT.
Yes, parking is available and easily accessible.
Smart Casual: Smart casual means not overly dressy or overly casual. For men, dark denim, chinos or suit paints with a neat shirt is appropriate, while women can wear skirts, midi/maxi dresses, or dark denim. Smart Casual is defined as “a dress code combining well-fitting, polished business wear with elements of casual attire.”
The ceremony will take place on the lawn, weather permitting. (Plan B will be in the barn if it's raining!) The cocktail hour will be enjoyed on the covered porch. The reception and dinner will take place inside the barn.
In an effort to minimize distractions and encourage guests to be present in the moment, we would prefer an unplugged ceremony.
Afternoon high temperatures tend to be comfortable late in October, generally averaging near 68-70 F. Late night and early morning low temperatures will likely be near 50 F. During October you can expect, on average, about 13 sunny, 8 partly sunny, and 10 mostly cloudy days. There will normally be 8-9 days with some measurable rain, however, only 2-3 of these will record 0.5 inches (13 mm) or more.
FOR THE MUSIC LOVERS: One of the most famous things in Nashville is seeing a show at the Grand Ole Opry or the Ryman Auditorium. Andrew and I LOVE the Grand Ole Opry! But if you’re in the mood for more spontaneous fun, then the most popular option is to visit the bars on Broadway, which have a variety of live bands every night of the week. For the music-museum fans, then you have to check out the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Johnny Cash Museum. FOR THE HISTORY LOVERS: Nashville has a rich history, and there are many beautiful historic homes that provide excellent educational information. First on this list is Andrew Jackson’s home, The Hermitage. Now Andrew Jackson might not make your list of top-5 favorite presidents of all time, but he is a significant part of Nashville’s history. Every home-grown Tennessean that I’ve ever met went to The Hermitage on their 7th grade field trip, and it is truly a beautiful site. The Ladies of the Hermitage have put together an informative museum on the grounds of the home, and they strive to provide a thorough and accurate history of the property and man who lived there. Our personal favorite historic site is Belle Meade. We HIGHLY recommend taking the Belle Meade Bourbon Tour in the old ice house. (Reservations are required but easy to get!) FOR THE OUTDOOR LOVERS: The grounds and gardens of Cheekwood is one of the prettiest cultivated spots in Nashville. The main house does have a small museum with rotating exhibits, so you never know what you’ll find inside. Visit in Fall for fabulous pumpkin displays and a glimpse of the changing leaves. Cheekwood has the Lindy and Larry McDaniel stamp of approval! For other recommendations -- call us! We'd love to pitch how great Tennessee is... and why you should move here ;)
