Like any great modern day love story, ours began in the midst of a dark, loud, music festival. The day was Boxing Day, the year was 2013 and the outfits were questionable. Yet, despite all odds we were both drawn to each other after the lights came on and in January 2014 we had our first date.

2014 | Paradiso (another music festival?!) and our first road trip together to Portland 2015 | Adam went to SE Asia and Lauren had her first summer away in Saskatoon 2016 | Our Asia trip to Hong Kong and the Philippines 2017 | We both moved out! Oh and to balance out being responsible, we went to Shambhala that summer 2018 | Road tripped down the coast to California, went on a kayaking trip through the Broken Islands, and became roommates 2019 | Visited family in New York and explored the Big Apple 2020 | Shocking... not a lot of travel this year, but we did lots of camping and exploring in beautiful BC 2021 | We bought our first home together!

After eight years together, on a belated Valentine's Day trip to Sparkling Hill Resort, Adam (finally) proposed to Lauren. Anyone who knows Adam will agree he is not known for his punctuality and meticulous schedule planning, so when he was adamant that they go for a walk before dinner at sunset, it was pretty clear something was up. Adam took Lauren on a snowy walk around the resort overlooking Okanagan lake, and when he finally found the perfect spot he got down on one knee and, well, you know the rest.
