Something New is Brewing

It's time to celebrate!

First of all, we want to thank everyone for the well-wishes on our actual wedding day (August 1, 2020). Deciding to go through with the wedding on our original date and limit the guest list was heartbreaking, but we are more than ready to celebrate with those who feel comfortable to do so! For that reason, we’d like to invite you for drinks and heavy hors d'oeuvres on July 31st! We’re hosting everything outside in the Bier Garten at the Bier Stube in Germantown, WI. To try to space things out even more, we’re holding this as casual “open-house” style with no formal timing, so you can come and go as you please! While we get back to some “normalcy,” we also understand that there will be people who might not feel comfortable with something like this, so we respect whether you decide to come or not. We would love to see you, though!

Crossing Paths

It Started With a Smile

Funny how sports draw us together, eh? Adam is the Assistant Equipment Manager for the Milwaukee Admirals, and in 2017, Shannen had her first season as game host (in other words, the one who goes out on the ice and plays games with the audience, does anything interactive during downtime, etc...). Before going on the ice for her first "bit," Shan always stands outside of the locker room to go onto the team's bench. Well, the locker room is basically Adam's office, so you can imagine how much they'd see each other in passing! The reason Shan would always remember Adam's face (for the life of her, she could never remember his name), is because he'd always walk past, tilt his head and smile. From there, he would message her on Instagram a few times before actually meeting up.

He Put a Ring On It

Basically to Prove Her Wrong

Shan had been bugging Adam about rings for a few weeks...maybe even months...and just kind of figured it wouldn't happen for a while anyway. A girl can look, right? In return, Adam thought it was funny to jokingly "propose," especially the week of July 4th. They had found a ring a few weeks before that Shan really liked, but Adam had informed her that he would need to wait a few months in order to make financing work. So, she thought nothing of it. Fast forward to two days after the fourth - mind you, this is mid-Summerfest - so, Shan is easily irritable because she's already working odd hours, attending shows, trying to have a social life, etc... Adam kept fake proposing and talking about the ring he bought. "Stop joking around, you don't have a ring!" "Wanna bet?" Just to prove her wrong with a smug look on his face, Adam walked into his room, reached under his bed and pulled the ring out. Shan didn't have an answer other than, "You're not supposed to have that!" After her mouth hung open for a few minutes in disbelief, she said yes. After that all happened, Adam took her to Atwater Beach (her favorite path that she runs) and proceeded to tell her that he had planned on proposing at "their spot" where they've watched airplanes and hung out before. He got down on one knee, asked again and took her to Belair Cantina for celebratory tacos and margaritas (now you know he's a keeper, too!)!
