Things To Do
Washington D.C.
If you're traveling through D.C. be sure to spend some time visiting the monuments & museums at the National Mall or exploring one of the different neighborhoods. Our recommendations are Eastern Market, Georgetown and the Wharf/Navy Yard.
Old Town Alexandria
If you have extra time, check out historic & beautiful Old Town Alexandria. Walk down King Street to see all the shops & restaurants (Murphy's Irish Pub is our favorite), and enjoy the waterfront parks & views.
Shenandoah & Great Falls National Parks
If you're looking to get out in some nature and do some hiking, we recommended spending time at either Shenandoah National Park or stay a little closer and visit Great Falls National Park (recommend the Billy Goat Trail).
Visit a Winery or Brewery
Northern Virginia is home to many excellent wineries & breweries, particularly Louden & Faulquier counties. Our favorites are Bear Chase Brewery & Naked Mountain Winery.
Check Out a Farmers Market
One of our favorite things to do on the weekend. Some of the best around are.. Courthouse - 0800-1200 Saturdays, Arlington, VA (get the breakfast burritos) Old Town - 0700-1200 Saturdays, Alexandria, VA Eastern Market - 0800-1800 Tuesday-Saturday, Washington, DC
