It was the summer of 2012 and Adam was standing in Arielle’s doorway. He was not there to pick her up for a date, come over for dinner, or any of the other reasons he would stand in that spot in the years to come – he was working a political campaign fundraiser. Arielle was intrigued by the dork with the clipboard. She invited him for a drink. Adam’s response: “I’m working right now.” It was an unpaid internship. Adam's mind kept wandering back to Arielle -- he had to find a way to see her again! Luckily, his friend worked with her that summer and his parents were out of town following Bruce Springsteen's tour. Adam made an offer to his friend, “I will let you throw a party at my house on one condition: you make sure Arielle Nagle attends.” His friend came through (shout out to Keon)! Arielle came to the party and the connection was instant. From there the rest is history! Right? Wrong. They parted ways at the end of that summer and lost touch for three years. Through some combination of persistence, fate, and just plain old growing up, the two reconnected over Thanksgiving in 2015. That is when happily ever after really began. After Arielle completed her Master's program, she joined Adam in DC. They got their first apartment together and adopted a kitten. In the following years, they left that apartment to move to Chicago; the kitten grew up into a beautiful cat (you no doubt have seen the photos), and Adam and Arielle's love for each other only grew. On Adam’s 27th Birthday, he proposed to Arielle, surprising her with a room full of loved ones who came to Chicago from around the country to celebrate. She gave him the only birthday gift he wanted when she said, "Yes."
