I don't remember the first time I saw Ashley, but I do remember the day I realized I was interested in her. Gym class, Fall of 2011. I spent our warm up laps around the gym game planning my best pick up line. "Hey, I have a question..." I asked and she was hooked. Thats all it took. Ive had her wrapped around my finger ever since. Okay, that's not exactly how it went, but I'll spare you all the flirting antics used by 14-15 year olds. I certainly remember our first kiss. A New Year's kiss strongly coerced by her older sister who, at the time, was very intimidating. More kisses followed that night. One of which was immediately followed by my first introduction to Bobby Ackerman. With sunglasses on indoors, he grabbed a picture from the shelf of Ashley as a toddler in a truck that fast-forward 8 years later, I'd be driving to work at King George Welding. Next to Ash in the picture stood Bob in a cut-off sleeve tee shirt. He points to his biceps, "You see those arms right there?" "Yes sir," I responded shakily. "You treat my little girl right." It took some practice, but as the years went by, I got better and better at doing just that. And now, 9 years later, I am asking for her hand in marriage, vowing to always treat her right. I'd be remiss to skip over a turning point in our lives. In the summer of 2017, Ashley made the decision to join me at Mississippi State University. One of the best decisions in both of our lives thus far. We made many lasting memories in Starkville. From tailgates in the Junction, to singing along to Journey's "Don't Stop Believing" with 60,000 cowbells ringing in Davis Wade, to partying with all the amazing friends we made. Through trials and tribulations, tears and triumphs, Ashley and I are approaching 10 years together and are extremely excited to celebrate this wonderful occasion with you.
