Yes, we kindly ask that you adhere to a black tie dress code for the ceremony and reception on Saturday. However, we encourage you to embrace the location in terms of style, season, and spirit. A summery Santa Fe Black Tie, if you will. Think breathable fabrics, color, glamour, whimsy, and confidence. The idea is to have fun, go all out, and feel fabulous. While our wedding will not adhere to all the traditions associated with a black tie event, we would love to see you dressed your very best for a night to remember dancing under the desert moon. Yes, if you choose to drive (with a designated driver), there will be parking available.
New Mexico is at a very high risk for wild fires, especially in the summer. We cannot have any open flame on the property (no candles, bonfires, fireworks etc.). If you smoke, please be sure to take your cigarette butt with you and be extremely conscientious of embers. We also ask that none of our guests drive after consuming any amount of alcohol. The ranch is located in a rural areas with dark, windy roads. Please designate a sober driver or plan to stay on the property. On Saturday, please use the provided transport. Otherwise, please respect the property, wild life, and each other!
Due to the high altitude, Northern New Mexico usually vacillates between very warm temperatures during the day and cooler temps in the evening. The average temperature in Ribera in August is a high of 85 degrees and a low of 55 degrees. However, there is virtually no humidity. It is a dry heat and 85 degrees is a generally comfortable temperature. The dry air may be a shock, and we recommend bringing plenty of chapstick, sunscreen, and lotion. Ribera is 6,000 feet above sea level and Santa Fe is about 8,000 feet. The high elevation in northern New Mexico may cause discomfort for some people, such as headaches, fatigue, and dizziness. Generally, 6,000-8,000 feet is low enough to avoid altitude sickness, but if you are sensitive to elevation, we recommend adding a few extra days to your trip to allow for acclimation. Otherwise, drink plenty of water and plan to drink fewer alcoholic beverages than you normally would. The effects of alcohol are much stronger at elevation!
