A Pirate and A Lumberjack Walk Into A Bar....

10/29/2016

Actually it was a mutual friend's Halloween party that they both almost missed...so, pretty sure destiny was involved. They both stayed at that party much, much longer than originally planned. The pirate gave the lumberjack a ride home since everyone else had already left. Then, they became Facebook friends and slowly started to talk and hang out. Come early December, they started referring to each other as boyfriend and girlfriend.

The Lumberjack whisks the Pirate away

9/7/2019

Nearly three years later, the pirate and lumberjack were still going strong! They love travelling, camping, going to concerts and just having a good time together. They began talking about how much they missed Lake Tahoe and decided to plan a quick weekend trip. The lumberjack’s work schedule had made planning any trips difficult for a while, but they finally found a weekend to make it happen! While in Tahoe, they went for a hike to a waterfall and to the Vikingsholm castle. Little miss pirate kept pestering her lumberjack to let someone take a picture of them (just about all their pictures together are selfies), but to no avail. By the time they finished that trek, lunch and a nap were needed to make it the rest of the day. With a second wind kicking in after their nap, they headed to their favorite ice cream place and then down to the beach. Pirates love their sunsets over water…in case you didn’t know. As sunset neared, the lumberjack gave in to the pirate’s pleas for some pictures. They located a couple that looked like they wouldn’t be bothered by the request (plus they had a cute little pupper with them). The lumberjack walked over to ask them for the favor and returned to ask the pirate to let them use her phone as well (turns out he asked for photos and a video). So, by the water’s edge, the pirate and lumberjack posed for the cameras…then the lumberjack turned the pirate to face him and told her how much she means to him. He dropped to his knee and pulled out a little box…and when he asked the pirate to marry him, she gladly said, “aye.” We look forward to a lifetime of love and adventure together and can't wait to share our big day with all our family and friends! See you in Tahoe!
