Abigail and Cameron first met at Bible college, both just following the Lord's leading in their lives. They originally began talking on September 27, 2017, and on October 27, after much prayerful consideration, they made their relationship official.

It all started as a walk in the park, Cameron told Abigail to bring her camera so they could take some pictures together. after the picture taking was through, on the way back to the car, Cameron suggested that they grab a blanket and sit and chat for a while. about halfway back to the car, a familiar vehicle drove by the park, Abigail recognized it as her parents van. Surprised at the sighting, she asked why they were in town, worried. Cameron, slightly caught off-guard himself, assured her that there was nothing wrong, and that if it was something really bad, they would've called or texted. After being reassured, Abigail relaxed a little bit and they finished their walk to the car to drop off the camera. After leaving the camera in the car and grabbing the blanket, Cameron grabbed a large gift bag from the back of his car, carrying it with him to where they would sit on the blanket. After sitting and talking for a little while, Cameron presented the bag to Abigail, saying that he just wanted to surprise her with a gift after the time they had spent apart over the summer. She opened the gift, pulling out an oven mitt set with some cooking utensils inside, smiling, she accepted the gift and was getting ready to put it back when Cameron said to take out everything that was in the mitt. While she unpacked the mitt, Cameron transitioned to one knee just as Abigail pulled out a box. After opening it, and seeing the beautiful ring, Cameron took it from her hands and asked her the big question. Well, obviously she said yes! Afterwards, there was a small engagement party, where it was made known why her family was in town. They joked about how her family had crashed the engagement, but in reality, it only made it that much more memorable!
