It all started at one of Mason’s backyard bonfires in 2009. Abbey didn’t know who Mason was but she heard of him. She was not sure what to expect. Mason was of course making ridiculous jokes and Abbey thought he was hilarious. It was an instant friendship. Throughout high school we became flirtatious friends until finally Mason had the courage to ask Abbey to senior year homecoming. This led to Mason asking Abbey to be his girlfriend. (He finally escaped the friend-zone!!!). Unfortunately after graduation, we went our separate ways. Abbey went off to college. Mason went to work. In 2014, Mason randomly texted Abbey and asked if she wanted to get coffee at Starbucks. Little did they know that would be the start of a new relationship. As soon as Mason picked Abbey up to go on their date, she could tell Mason was different (in a good way) he was more mature and even more handsome. Now fast forward to 2022. Abbey and Mason were about to go on a road trip to the Smoky Mountains for their 8th Anniversary. Leading up to this trip, Mason was suspiciously interested in the status of Abbey's manicure. This made Abbey very excited and also extremely nervous it was all in her head. As soon as they arrived to their Airbnb, Mason asked Abbey if she had seen the back balcony overlooking the mountains. Abbey went outside and started to look around when she felt Mason grab her hand and hand her a love letter. IT WAS HAPPENING! She was shaking and honestly did not read the entire letter the first time. When she looked up, Mason was down on one knee and with teary eyes he asked "Will you marry me?". We cannot wait to celebrate with all of our closest friends and family! Our love story is just getting started.
