How We Met

5.11.21

There I was, about to move to Rhode Island. Ready to be free, single, and party my life away then BOOM Aaron showed up. I hadn’t even moved yet! I was just there visiting to figure out what town I was going to move to. Checking out the coffee shops in town. Let me tell you, worst hot chocolate ever! How do you make hot chocolate taste like hand soap? Anyway, there he was; a super cute guy. He definitely was something special. We sat at a bar table area for a while, talking. I could tell he was nervous talking to me but that made it cuter. We ended up at Oakland beach which I was like “woah a beach 20 minutes away? What?” You know me being from mountains and all. I, a western Maryland yeehaw, was in aww. (Now that I’ve lived there apparently to you native folks call it the “ghetto” beach. Like okay? Privileged much?) After an unexpected drunken night with my best friend; Aaron (like the gentleman he is) came and saved my dumbass from the night. After some cuddling in his Jeep until 5am. It was time for me and my grandmother to go home to Maryland. After a long 18 days of video chatting, phone calls (and a quick trip to Maryland for him) we decided to officially start dating. Man, oh man am I glad I did. He is truly the best guy I’ve met and makes me laugh on the hardest days. It was worth never having a party life in Rhode Island. I have a forever party partner now!

The Proposal

12.29.22

Oh where to begin…..before I get started I must state I was scared shitless, but everything worked out. So it all started back in RI when I was like you know what I’m gonna marry this woman someday because honestly I’ve never met anyone in the world who can deal with me, my bs , my families bs, her bs, her families bs, and still have enough energy to love and cherish me with all her heart and make days 100x easier. So I started planning from that day on. Months pass and I’m still working for the best opportunity to pop the question. I started floating the idea around Christmas time and Becca’s like “you better not propose on Christmas, that’s so cliché” so I waited and while doing this I asked Paul (Becca's dad) for his blessing because in my head it’s important to have the fathers blessing. He of course said yes so that was great, now I just had to get set up. So I run to the store and get all the flowers, her favorite snacks and foods, and prepare and set up everything. And I had all the lights and the Christmas tree still up and as she walked in the door I gave her the flowers and goodies and she’s like “what’d you do?” So me not trying to laugh walked her over in front of the tree, spoke from the heart for a little bit. Took a deep breath and got down on one knee, and asked her to make me the happiest man on this planet by marrying me…….(as I shake in fear)…..she said YES! And as they say the rest is history. See you in CT!
