How We Met

11.20.2018

How do you even meet people in the Tri-Cities? Aaron and I luckily found each other on "Bumble", the online dating site that lets the lady be the first to reach out after you match. So there I was, ready to give up on internet love, when I decided to lower my age range by two years. Aaron's profile was the first one that popped on to my feed and I believe I said aloud, "hot damn, where did this guy come from?" Apparently he liked what he saw too, as we matched right away. I probably waited a good 15 minutes before messaging him. He was a great conversationalist, he was obviously incredibly handsome, smart, and had his life together, something I found very attractive (and still do). We agreed that we needed to meet. Our first date was at Starbucks on November 20, 2018. He fell madly in love with me and by our second date we decided that he was going to be the father of my children. Now here we are almost five years later. Thank goodness for the internet!

The Proposal

6.30.23

After having Charlie and 2 kids of our own and buying a house together I got the courage to propose to Meghan. I had a work trip planned to the Bahamas and thought this would be a great destination to propose so I had her join me on my trip. It was Friday, June 30th in the Bahamas and I made dinner reservations at this restaurant on the water. Initially, my plan was to propose on the water outside of the restaurant. Well things didn't go as planned...If you know Meghan she is a chatterbox and we happened to get seated near this couple from Texas and Nevada. Long story short I think Meghan spoke to our new "friends" more than me at dinner and I soon realized my initial plan was not feasible. Here I was in the Bahamas and as we were waiting for our taxi to arrive to take us back to our hotel I thought to myself what the hell am I going to do now?! As we're in the taxi I was like F it I am going to do this on the beach even though we won't have the kodak moment. When our taxi dropped us off I told her hey lets take a walk on the beach. Keep in mind it is about 9 p.m. so there is no one on the beach. After about a minute into the walk I said, "Look this night did not go as I initially planned (I begin to kneel on one knee), but will you marry me? She of course said yes!
