We first met at the parking lot of Denny's on the way to a post-church hangout with friends towards the end of November. It's almost ironic that Zach, an avid fan of all things cars and who would love to drift cars for a living, and Abby, figuratively and literally ran into each other on the drive in. After spending time with friends that night, they go their separate ways only to run into each other again when its time to head up to Michigan for their church's young adult retreat. Riding together with a mutual friend, they spend more time together and get to know each other more.

After the initial meeting at camp, Zach and Abby kept in touch. After a work event ended early, Abby debates with Zach what to do next, and Zach shoots his shot and suggests they could hang out. He makes the hour long drive to pick her up and take her to downtown Geneva, IL. They grab a little lemonade drink together and walk around the small town, talking and getting to know each other more. By the end of the night, both of them were sure about each other and curious to see where this would go.

The two of them decide to head over to the Chicago Botanical Gardens for a little stroll around the garden. Just a few yards into the garden, a woman notices the two of them walking and asks to take pictures of them, explaining that she wished she had more photos of her and her husband before his passing. The two agree and she snaps pictures for them against a rose bush. In one of the photos, she asks the two to kiss, to which they agreed and shared their first kiss. Even with Abby in Chicago, IL and Zach about to begin his final year at Belmont University in Nashville, TN, they both decide they were all in for each other and make it official regardless of the distance.

One Thanksgiving, Christmas, and graduation later, Zach surprises Abby by making the trip up from Nashville, spending time with both his and her family, and popping the question. After a year apart, the two are excited to finally be able to be together and see where the adventure leads next!
