Welcome drinks

We will be meeting for drinks at the Punch House in Monmouth town centre on the evening of Saturday 23rd for those that would like to come.

What’s the dress code?

Answer

Summer wedding outfits! Dresses, suits, feel free to go all out, or wear whatever you feel most comfortable in. Don't feel that you have to wear a hat, but if you'd like to, go for it! If it has been raining in the weeks leading up the wedding, it might be that you need to bring some wellies to get across the field to the venue! Let's hope not though. What time should we be there?

Answer

The ceremony at The Shire Hall will begin at 1pm on Sunday 24th May. We kindly ask guests to arrive 10 minutes early to be seated. If you arrive very early, please feel free to explore The Shire Hall. It is a lovely historic building and includes an old court house and prison cells. Or have a drink in the Punch House next door.

Is there parking?

Answer

Ceremony - the Shire Hall There is a public car park (Glendower Street car park) a 3 minute walk behind the Shire Hall. Parking on Sunday should be free. If you are staying somewhere in town with free parking (such as the Premier Inn) we recommend you leave your car there and walk to the ceremony. Reception - Little Wonastow Farm There is ample, safe parking at the farm where you can leave your cars overnight. On arrival there will be signs directing you around the back to park in the barn. Ideally guests will share lifts from the ceremony to the farm so that between everyone there will be enough cars left in town to enable you to share lifts to pick cars up on the Monday.

Is there a shuttle from the ceremony to the reception?

Answer

We anticipate that most people will drive themselves from the ceremony in Monmouth town centre to the reception at Chris and Mair Rossiter's farm. If you are stuck for a lift from the ceremony to the farm, please let us know and we can help to pair you up with other guests who have space in their car to get you there.

Is there a shuttle service back from the reception to hotels in Monmouth?

Answer

A 12 seater mini bus will be doing regular runs back and forth from the reception at Little Wonastow Farm to hotels in Monmouth. This mini bus shuttle is limited only to hotels in Monmouth town centre. This includes the hotels listed on this website. Are children welcome?

Answer

We love your children - we really do. But we have very limited room at the ceremony and only so many seats at the evening meal, so we would prefer it to be a mainly 'adults only' event. However, if not bringing your children is going to cause any difficulties for you and your family, please let us know and we can come to a solution together. You coming to the wedding is enough already. Seriously. That's it. If you really want to give something, then we have a page on this website under 'gifts', but please do not feel obliged! :)

Will we be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony will be indoors, the reception will take place in a temporary structure accessed through a field, please wear appropriate shoes.
