Question

What is the weather like in Lebanon in October?

Answer

The best time to travel to Lebanon is in the fall (September to November) and in the spring (March to May). Then you have the most pleasant temperature and the landscape is lush and green. Lebanon has a Mediterranean climate with mild winters and hot summers. In the mountains of Lebanon, the climate is cold and rainy during winter and warm and sunny during summer. You can travel to Lebanon most of the year.

Question

Do I need a visa for Lebanon?

Answer

Around 80 countries are eligible for a visa on arrival for Lebanon, this includes most Western countries. The visa on arrival means just a stamp in your passport after arrival in Beirut.

Question

What is the time zone in Lebanon?

Answer

Lebanon uses the time zone UTC +2. Lebanon has a difference of +2 in the winter months and +3 in the summer time.

Question

How can I pay for things in Lebanon?

Answer

The currency in Lebanon is the Lebanese Pound (LBP). Make sure you bring enough cash for all your purchases: food, transport, souvenirs, etc. There will be areas to perform a currency exchange, please do not do this at the airport. Card payments may be accepted in limited places, you will get charged extra if paying with a card.

Question

How much will I spend in Lebanon?

Answer

As a guideline we advise around $50 to $100 per day, understanding that this varies from person to person. If you like to buy souvenirs, bring extra cash with you. Soft drinks are usually around $1 and meals are between $5 and $30. Tipping local guides is always encouraged. They don’t earn much in this part of the world and it often makes a big difference to them. Of course this is according to your own preference.

Question

What is the voltage and which plug should I use in Lebanon?

Answer

The complete electricity supply of Lebanon is 220V/50 Hz. Lebanon therefore uses sometimes the same plugs and sockets as in most of Western Europe. However, we suggest you bring a universal plug. There are regular power outages, so make sure to charge everything as soon as there is power in your hotel. If you have a portable external battery, now is the time to use it :)

Question

Is there internet access and cell service in Lebanon?

Answer

Internet is available at most accommodations. However, the connection or the speed are not reliable. Cell phone coverage is not an issue in Lebanon. If you choose to purchase a local SIM card, we can help with that.
