Our wedding ceremony will be celebrated within the context of the Holy Mass and the Eucharistic Liturgy. For that reason, we find it necessary to express and reiterate the truths of the faith. The Holy Catholic Church professes the true presence of Jesus Christ in the Eucharistic Sacrifice. That is, when the priest holds up the bread and wine and proclaims the words of our Lord, the bread and wine physically and literally become the flesh and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. In light of this teaching, we ask that only those who both profess the Catholic faith and are in a state of grace (meaning you have not committed a mortal sin since your last sacramental confession) come up to receive the Eucharist in Communion. If you are a believing Catholic and have fallen away from the church or have not been to confession in a while, we would like to offer to you time for the sacrament of confession before the ceremony. Additionally, out of respect for God and his Church we request this be an unplugged ceremony. Please see the following links for general information about the Catholic Church and its teachings. Additionally, if you have any questions about the Church or our beliefs please feel free to reach out!
