About this venue
Situated in the pine trees of Nacogdoches, Texas, our 1914 registered historic church was home to one of the oldest African American congregations in the state. Built by famed architect Diedrich Rulfs, Zion Hill Baptist Church is the embodiment of timeless Southern elegance and simplicity. The church has been restored over the years to its former glory and updated with modern heating and cooling systems, security systems, and handicap accessibility so that it may continue to be a pillar of the community through historical preservation and social engagement. Zion Hill can accommodate a variety of events such as wedding ceremonies, micro receptions, bridal showers, and more. Sanctuary & Gallery
"It is the embodiment of the true beauty of simplicity."
This space features soaring vaulted ceilings, imported and original windows, beautifully preserved hardwood floors, restored pews, and a sloped sanctuary floor for an optimal view of the pulpit from any seat.

Our most versatile space!
This space is located in the main entrance area of the venue and allows for smaller gatherings such as micro receptions (< 20) rehearsal dinners, wedding showers, and meetings. The basement features windows that line the exterior wall, providing plenty of natural light, and it houses both the restrooms and the kitchenette for ease of access. Reception space in the basement is limited.
