Whispertree (formerly Bell Valley Retreat) is a Boonville, California venue for weddings that welcomes you to the beauty and simplicity of a less-is-more celebration embraced by a pristine, 600+ acre retreat in Anderson Valley, California. At Whispertree you can celebrate without the pressure of fitting into the conventional wedding box. We invite couples with a love of nature (including LGBTQ couples) to craft a unique wedding experience to honor their union and enjoy intimate and nourishing connection with family and friends.

The Amphitheatre at the Knoll

At Whispertree you can celebrate without the pressure of fitting into the conventional wedding box.

Our outdoor Amphitheater seats up to 150 under the shade of entwined madrone and oak trees. The nearby Madrone Yurt offers an air-conditioned retreat space with panoramic valley views, an ideal spot for group gatherings or for the wedding party and family to gather before the ceremony.

Sail-Cloth Pole Tent

Whispertree embodies a refined, nature-inspired style that reflects the simple, natural beauty of the land.

Our tent accommodates up to 150 people for dining, with lower seating capacity if the dance floor is incorporated. It Includes dimmable bistro lighting and a power source for music and toasts. The majestic tent’s side flaps are beautifully designed to comfortably protect guests from the elements while retaining expansive views of the valley.

The Multi-Use Barn

Integrated lovingly and seamlessly with the natural environment.

The barn's main hall can be used for dancing, wedding receptions, Friday night talent shows, and as a gathering space for DIY flower arranging and Sunday goodbye breakfasts. It is a perfect backup ceremony site in the event of rain. The main hall has also been used for smaller, intimate indoor weddings and celebrations. The outdoor, shed roof area of the barn has been used for cocktails, dinner and dessert buffets, casual seating, photo booths, and more. It can be enclosed offering seating for outdoor dining for 50-60 guests.

Madrone Yurt

A gorgeous retreat space with panoramic valley views; an ideal spot for the wedding party and family to gather before the ceremony at the neighboring amphitheater. Also a great place to gather for other group events, such as planned yoga sessions, dance nights or a massage station for guests.

    The choice of WhisperTree as our wedding venue was the absolute best decision we made in planning our sacred ceremony. We could not have asked for a more ineffably perfect setting—the gorgeous land, the incredible staff, and the rustic chic decor created the perfect atmosphere for the conscious California retreat wedding of our dreams. The land and property is absolutely gorgeous. You have access to a beautiful historic mansion with a beautiful backyard and hot tub, a rustic-yet-upscale barn with glimmering string lights, a charming riverside cottage, a gorgeous yurt where we hosted a soundbath and yoga, absolutely stunning glamping tents, and breathtaking trails. The entire weekend, all our guests kept noting how beautiful the property is, and how carefully and thoughtfully maintained. You can tell love and intention was put into every single piece of furniture, and there are incredible amenities, including rain boots, umbrellas, blankets for chilly nights, and so much more. We felt help, taken care of, and very grateful for the opportunity to host our unforgettable event here. The staff is top notch, and always available to assist you with any needs you may have. Everything is perfectly organized, so it made wedding planning as breezy as possible. We also worked with local farmers to source our food, wine, and flowers, and we could not have asked for better options. Many of our friends expressed that they hoped to get married at WhisperTree too, or to host a retreat, because it truly is the most unforgettable property in Northern California. We cannot recommend it more highly!

    I found Whispertree (formerly Bell Valley Retreat) when I was looking for a retreat/camping wedding setting for our Spring wedding. It was that and so much more! The accommodations exceeded all expectations-- beautiful, modern, eco-friendly, luxurious, and colorful! Our guests raved about the design and the comfort. Frida was so personable and helpful throughout the whole process; she made us feel like family. We got the best photographs because she showed us the secret spots up on the hill at golden hour! We arrived a day early to settle in and didn't want to leave on Sunday. The nature was magical-- especially our late-night bonfire under the stars after hours of dancing in the Barn. Oh yeah, and there's a hot tub! We cannot wait to return and re-visit the memories of our favorite weekend in our new favorite place. Highly recommend the venue, the staff, the vendor recommendations (especially Pilon Catering and Boontberry Farm). Zero complaints.

    Don't get married here...only because it's the absolute most special place on the planet and I want it all to myself :) .... It may feel like a trek for guests, but there is nothing like it out there. It's magical when you are here, and words can't describe it. There are so many places on the property to fall in love with. The staff was so supportive throughout our planning process and even more helpful during our wedding weekend — they even went as far as dismantling the front porch when my diamond earring fell through the cracks! Perfect is a hard word to live up to, but Whispertree is effortlessly enchanting and unique. Our wedding weekend surpassed anything that we could've imagined it to be, and we'll forever remember this place. We almost want to get divorced so we can get married here again
