About this venue
The Augustus in Historic Downtown McKinney is a spacious, distinctive, customizable event venue perfect for cocktail receptions, corporate events, weddings, and everything in between. Featuring over 6,000 sq-ft across five rooms, it’s the ideal location to celebrate, gather, and create memories. The turn of the century brick building, originally a wholesale grocery warehouse, was built by Augustus Chapel King who founded and operated The King Grocery Company. Mr. King, also known as Gus, is woven into the history of McKinney. His namesake, The Augustus, pays homage to his one-of-a-kind space along with McKinney's storied past. The Augustus is brought to you by the team at Local Yocal BBQ & Grill known for locally sourced, Chef-driven, sophisticated Texas cuisine. The team at the The Augustus is committed to designing and executing a personalized event that is uniquely yours, in a distinctive space that is authentically Texan, with food and drink that’s party perfect.

Unique Venue & Amazing Service!
If you are looking for something truly unique The Augustus is the venue for you! I have worked with Melissa, Matt, Adam, and their amazing team on several events we have held there. The communication and service is outstanding. From the event idea stage to the day of, not a detail was missed. The food is incredible, from heavy appetizers to a full service sit down dinner, there is something for everyone. If you want an exceptional event experience, this is the place that will make that happen. Highly recommend!
Great space to host large groups
The staff is so friendly and helpful! We had an event there with over 80 people and it was perfect. We stayed for lunch after wards and the wait staff was very attentive and the food was soooo good

Just hosted an event at The Augustus in Downtown McKinney, Texas, and I couldn't wait to share my experience! First things first, the staff went above and beyond to make sure everything was just right. You could really feel their passion for creating an amazing client experience. Walking into the building, I was totally taken in by the rich history that's all around. It's like each corner has a story to tell, and I loved soaking it all in. The mix of old-world charm and modern comfort in the design really sets the vibe. What I found super cool about The Augustus is how well thought out everything is. Having private access to the kitchen, separate restrooms, and a fully stocked bar makes a huge difference. It's like they're all about making sure you have what you need for any kind of event – big or small. And let's talk tech – it's seriously impressive! The audio-visual setup fits right in with the space, which meant we could have some killer presentations and entertainment. The way they blend history and modern tech is a winner in my book. To wrap it up, hosting my event at The Augustus felt like taking a step back in time, but with all the perks of today. The staff's friendly vibes, the historic setting, and the top-notch amenities make this spot a real hidden treasure. The team at the Augustus was very professional and accommodating. They took care of everything from set up to tear down. We just showed up and enjoyed our night without any worries. I would highly recommend them.
