About this venue

Switzer Farm is the most majestic and secluded wedding destination on California’s North Coast. Located 20 minutes north of Fort Bragg, near the historic village of Westport, the restored 1884 Victorian farmhouse sits atop 22 private oceanfront acres directly above the wild Pacific. We enjoy uninterrupted ocean views from the house and from everywhere on the property. This is the perfect place for your wedding, elopement, reunion or event of any kind. You and your guests will enjoy uninterrupted views of the Pacific Ocean and its rocky sea stacks and crashing waves from our farmhouse, garden cottage, veranda, gardens, lawns, meadow, headlands, really everywhere on the property. But you will all also enjoy complete privacy from the rest of the world. The entire property is West of the only roadway, Route 1, and so, once you arrive, there will be nothing between you and the ocean but our very private meadow and headlands!

    The Most Beautiful Wedding Venue on the Mendocino Coast

    We have a number of fantastic sites on our property for all your wedding events throughout the weekend. For example, our ocean-view south lawn (electrified and plumbed to allow your caterers and bartender to work easily) is a great spot for a big catered dinner and dancing. The ocean-view veranda and gardens surrounding the farmhouse are great spots for a ceremony, cocktail party or rehearsal dinner. Of course, for those who want extra drama, our oceanfront meadow and bluff top are also great spots for a ceremony. Our historic barns likewise present a wonderful scenic backdrop for photos and activities. The interiors of the barns are not available for use at events.

      There was no component of our wedding weekend more complimented than the venue itself. People could not stop remarking about the beauty of Switzer Farm and how lucky they felt to have had the opportunity to visit. Many have said they'd like to get married there next! Gary and Dolores were a joy to work with and we appreciated the extra effort they both took to familiarize us and our vendors with the property. We felt extra, extra grateful to have had the opportunity to stay onsite for our wedding and enjoyed the beautiful accommodations, kitchen, and access to our wedding! The extra special opportunity to spend more time with our families at Switzer will be cherished forever.
