Q: Can we bring our own alcohol?

Yes! You may serve your guests wine and beer or hard alcohol. We do require that you hire a certified bartender and they provide proof of their liquor license.

Q: ARE THERE CHANGING AREAS FOR THE BRIDE, GROOM, AND /OR WEDDING PARTY?

Yes, the original creamery has been renovated and lovingly renamed as the hen house. It serves as a great place to get ready, drink a glass or two of champagne or as a quiet place for a first look

Q: HOW LATE CAN WE PARTY?

In accordance with local noise ordinances, amplified music must stop at 10:00pm and guests are asked to vacate the ranch by 11:00pm.

Q: DO YOU HAVE A DECOR INVENTORY WE CAN BORROW FROM?

We have a fun and eclectic inventory of props that can be incorporated into your wedding decor, some of it left over from the ranch’s dairy farming days.

Q: DO YOU REQUIRE A WEDDING PLANNER?

We require that someone acts as a liaison between your vendors and you. Things always go much smoother when that person is a professional coordinator versus a guest wearing two hats.

About this venue

Swallow Creek Ranch, a 600 acre cattle ranch is located in the quaint beach town of Cayucos and is the only wedding venue on the central coast of California that offers ocean view ceremony sites and a historic reception barn. At Swallow Creek Ranch we provide the blank canvas for the day of your dreams and allow you to shape your celebration as you see fit. You’ll have access to our venue for the entire weekend which makes for a relaxed affair. You will also have your choice of two ceremony sites; the Hilltop Amphitheatre and the Seaview Meadow, each with their own unique atmosphere. The party continues with cocktail hour in the barnyard beneath our bistro lights followed by a reception for up to 250 guests in our historic blue barn. Elegant or organic, rustic or modern… the scene is set, the ranch is your backdrop. Make your vision come true!

THE HISTORIC DAIRY BARN

Built in 1863, this enchanting blue barn was the heart of the dairy until the 1940's when ranch production shifted to beef cattle because of a long drought. Milk producing cows need a lot of water! Fully retrofitted, it still retains its historic character. It can accommodate up to 250 guests and features 4,700 square feet of inviting space for your celebration. It includes a dance floor, modern wiring and lighting, three handicap accessible restrooms, a custom wine barrel bar, four propane heaters (propane included), and a creek side deck.

THE SEA VIEW MEADOW

This tranquil spot, alongside Swallow Creek, is lined with native Monterey cypress trees as well as majestic eucalyptus, both habitat to the Monarch butterfly. This location has views of the ocean and can be used as a ceremony area or cocktail hour area with the convenience of being adjacent to the reception barn.

THE HILLTOP AMPHITHEATRE

Our hilltop amphitheater provides a breathtaking natural backdrop for your ceremony. A ceremony stage and guest seating look out over the ranch and its rolling hills towards the Pacific Ocean and the panoramic coastal terraces of Estero Bluffs State Park. Also a favorite location among our coupes’ photographers for golden hour photos!
