About this venue

Smolak Farms is steeped in history. At the age of two, owner Michael Smolak bore witness to his Aunt Willie’s wedding on the farm. Little did he know then, back in 1954, that that wedding would be the start of a long and beautiful tradition of using Smolak Farms as a cherished wedding venue. The beautiful rolling hills of orchards and farmland span 125 acres, and provide the perfect backdrop for this very special bonding of two people. Being connected to nature and all the beauty it holds is an incredible way to start a union not just of two people, but of two families, and two lives.

We just had our wedding at Smolak Farms and could not have had a better experience start to finish. Elaine was a godsend throughout the entire process. Elaine has been available and accommodating since day one. Throughout the entire process, she constantly checked in with us to ask us if we need anything or had any questions. She was readily available to answer any and all questions and offered suggestions and feedback throughout, that was greatly welcomed by us. As we got closer to our wedding date, Elaine helped us feel relaxed and organized. The day of the rehearsal, Elaine and her team were ready for our rowdy bridal party, and kept us organized and on track for a quick rehearsal. Elaine and her team were extremely detail oriented and had everything organized and set up the day of - they not only received and set up our charcuterie, board delivery and pastry delivery, but the entire venue was decorated beautifully beyond our initial vision. We got so many compliments that we owe to Elaine and her team on the location, ceremony, and reception. Elaine and her team went above and beyond all of our expectations for our wedding day and truly brought our wedding vision to life, and then some. We had been told to expect things to not go according to plan, we did not experience that at all. Everything went more than perfect that day. We couldn’t be more grateful for them and recommend Smolak Farms more highly!!! Thank you Elaine and team!!!!

Elaine, the wedding coordinator, is the absolute worst. When we booked the venue, another woman was in charge but she ended up leaving. We thought Elaine would be fine since she said she’d been working there for 10 years, but I’m seriously questioning if she is ready to be in charge (if she ever will be). The day of our wedding it rained. We knew it was a possibility so during the rehearsal we asked if we should run through things if that happened and she just said “no we don’t need to do that!” And yes, we absolutely did. No one knew what was supposed to happen the day of. She assured me she would be there at 7am and waltzed in at about 11am. She offered help to whomever but would say “I’ll send someone over” instead of helping herself. During the reception, she pulled me away from greeting my guests to tell me we had to cut the cake. I only had 2 tables left to go to so I asked if I could quickly finish that and she was all “of course! No worries!” And not 30 seconds later she comes storming up to me saying “You need to cut the cake NOW!” I changed into a second, shorter dress halfway through the reception (because there was goose poop everywhere outside, despite her saying they would “try their best to clean it up beforehand” I get it, they can’t control the geese—it’s a farm—but they DEFINITELY didn’t even try to clean things up). I hung up my dress next to my veil on a shutter room divider in the bridal suite (the only means of changing in the bridal suite btw unless you want to go down the stairs and around the side to the bathroom). I decided to leave my dress hanging there overnight since the bottom was covered in mud (whole other story with the seamstress) and I didn’t know if I’d have a good place to hang it in the hotel. She assured us we could leave anything in the suite that night and come back for it the next morning. She called me to ask if I knew I left my dress there. I assured her I did, saying I wanted it to hang and dry. When I came back to get it the next morning, my mother’s veil was tossed on the couch, with my filthy dress off the hanger and balled up like dirty laundry ON TOP OF MY MOTHER’S VEIL!!! When my husband confronted her about it, without skipping a beat, she blurted out “MY PEOPLE DIDNT DO THAT!!” Despite my husband insisting that we were the last guests to be up there (the cleaning people were already there as we were grabbing our stuff). She then had the nerve to say “I didn’t want to touch it in case you had it a certain way” WHO WOULD INTENTIONALLY DO THAT?! She was counting on us being too drunk to remember but I don’t drink so I know it was hanging on the divider when we left. But her audacity doesn’t end there. She texted me saying sorry about the dress BUT “if you had just told me ahead of time you were going to leave your dress, I would’ve hung it in my office” like it was my fault that it ended up like that. My mother also lost her coat there and she was incredibly vague about that. She is a completely irresponsible, rude, inconsiderate woman. The whole allure of the venue is completely taken away if it rains since everything is moved into the tent, and they don’t seem to care what happens to your belongings. Hayley (Hailey?) was the ONLY person who was on top of everything and being helpful and responsive.
